About Allergen Recall Hub

Our Purpose

Allergen Recall Hub exists to help allergy sufferers and concerned consumers make more informed decisions about the food they buy. Food allergies affect millions of people worldwide, and undeclared allergens in food products can pose serious health risks.

By aggregating official food recall data and presenting it in an accessible format, we aim to highlight patterns in allergen-related recalls and help consumers identify companies that may have recurring issues with allergen labelling.

Data Sources

Our data is sourced from official food recall notices published by government food safety agencies. These agencies are responsible for monitoring food safety standards and issuing alerts when products pose potential health risks to consumers.

We focus specifically on recalls related to undeclared allergens, filtering out other types of food safety issues to provide a targeted view of allergen-related incidents.

How We Rank Companies

Our rankings are based on a straightforward methodology: we count the number of recall notices associated with each company for undeclared allergens. Companies with more recalls appear higher in our rankings.

It's important to note that these rankings reflect the number of official recall notices, not necessarily the severity of each incident or the overall safety of a company's products. A higher ranking indicates more frequent allergen-related recalls, which may warrant additional caution from allergy sufferers.
